(Reno, NV) – Today, conservative Republican candidate for Nevada State Assembly, District 25, Sam Kumar announced that he has earned the endorsement of former Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen. Chuck Allen served as sheriff for four years, having been elected by the voters in 2014. He championed many important efforts such as improving community service, engagement between his deputies and the public and he helped navigate the department through some difficult budget challenges. Allen remains extremely popular with the residents of Washoe County and northern Nevada.
“As the former Washoe County Sheriff, a State Trooper, and a veteran of our nation’s armed forces, I know how important it is to support our brave law enforcement officers and those who serve to protect others,” Chuck Allen stated. “I fully support and endorse Sam Kumar for Nevada State Assembly because I know Sam will support our law enforcement and their families. Sam knows that nothing else matters in our personal lives if we don’t feel safe in our homes, our schools, our businesses, and out in the community, in general. Please join me in supporting Sam Kumar for Nevada State Assembly.”
“I am truly honored to have earned the endorsement of Sheriff Chuck Allen,” Sam Kumar stated. “Sheriff Allen served our nation, our state, and our communities in Washoe County with honor and distinction. He knows that I will always back our law enforcement personnel and their families, I’ll be tough on crime, and I’ll always honor my oath to our Constitution.”
Chuck Allen joins other notable supporters of Kumar, such as former Senator Maurice Washington, Randi Thompson and David Buell. The Kumar campaign will focus on the key issues affecting Nevada: our highest-in-the-nation unemployment, record inflation, poor performance and lack of accountability in our public schools, unaffordable housing, the lack of respect of basic constitutional rights, and the rapid rise in crime in our communities.
